1. What is the difference between real and relevant?
2. How can I always be real?
3. How can I teach for the future?
What is been relevant mean?
-Been relevant is when you use examples that the students feel near to their context, while been real means go much further, also means that there is a perceived connection by the students, between what they are learning and how can they apply in the real world.
“Why should I learn this?” than “To make your world a better place”?
In partnering,
students use real-world tools to access and analyze publically available
information, that mean s that in the class teachers have to use real examples, in order to make real changes in the life.
TIPS FOR TEACHERS
Making Science Real
Find Groups of Passions: Group the students depending of their passions; Grouping students
by their passions can also be an incentive for students who haven’t found
their passion to keep looking for one
Connect Students With Practitioners and Models
in the Real World: In any subject, a class segment in which,
every few days, a person in a different job came in and answered questions
for just 10 or 15 minutes could be more valuable to most students than
much of the curricular content they might learn in that class
Take the time to find out what your students’ parents do.
ALWAYS THINK FUTURE:
The world our students will live and work in will certainly be
radically different than the world in which they, and we, are now living
